Jan 20 On the Beach

Our last stop, Jan11, before the beach was Rice & Beans RV at San Ignatio.  We are set up beside Steve and Nan where we found a hot spot.  We arrived at el Coyote Jan12 to blue skies and 25 degrees.  There are lots of rigs here this year and because of hurricane Jimena there are few palapas so we are glad we brought our tent this trip.  We are set up just a few feet above the high tide line and I have installed the new solar heated shower.  Deb’s been in the water but it’s too cold for me (21 degrees).  Air temperature are hovering around 27 degrees. The last two days it almost hit 30, 29.3 and 29.7. I’ve been out in the inflatable with the new motor and it’s great.  Planes at half throttle.  The sailing dinghy was rigged yesterday.  We had huge gale force wind  (35 knots) a couple of days ago, blew both the shower stall and tent over in the middle of the night. The tent was even loaded with all our gear including the 30 pound bocci balls and a bucket of sand.  Shook the bejesus out of the trailer.  In town today for supplies, internet and especially margarita stuff.

another day in paradise

Here we are camped at the Rice & Beans RV park in San Ignacio.  A beautiful oasis in the desert - the palms are date palms, of course we have been snacking on fresh dates this afternoon.  Notice the blue sky!  Next stop...... playa el Coyote.........home finally.

Tomorrow, lunes it's off for San Ignatio and mardes should see us on the beach at our destination Coyote Beach on Bahia de Conception in the Sea of Cortez. This last photo is last year on the beach.

Hasta luego mi amigos.

We're off

Jan 3, loaded and ready to go. Baja here we come.

We made it to a rest stop on I 5 just out of Vancouver WA the night of the Jan 3.  We discovered a water system fault and went to Camping World in Portland the next morning.  Huge rain and wind.  Semi solved the water problem (Manana).  Blew a trailer tire that night flying down I5 mid Oregon.  Cool Highway Patrol showed up and helped us change it.  New tire plus and extra wheel and tire in Medford Oregon.  Camped on the Rogue River late.  Day three a rest stop on I5 in central California.  Day five Palm Springs and to day Jan 7 we are in El Centro, Southern California, near the Mexican border.  We have stocked the cellar with thirty litres of wine, the freezer with steaks and other various meats and any other staples we deemed necessary.  I crawled under the trailer at the RV Resort we are at and removed the liner for the water tank and low and behold found a kink in the water line between the tank and the pump.  All is fixed and tomorrow we will move to Potrero CA. (three miles from the border at Tecate).  We plan to zip in to Tecate, walk across the border and get our visas and paperwork done, then Saturday it's Coyote Beach or bust.

                   Leaving the inner harbour.

                  You can tell Debbie's excited!!
