More on the way home....

Yes this is snow you see at the side of the road!  It was cold too!  we had a temperature of -8' one morning in Flagstaff Arizona.  Burrrrrr......

Miles and miles of nothing....................

And a quick look at one of the slot canyons we were hiking in.  We are in Page, Arizona and kayaked the Lower Antelope canyon one day, then hiked the Upper Antelope Canyon the next.  Still lots more to tell about but running out of time - on our way to a river raft on the Colorado.....more later.

In the centre of Baja

Yes of course there is always something happening!  This event was a broken bracket on the trailer spring.  After a bit of asking around and Steve checking the town/no town (Catavina) we found a welder that would fix us up, no problem.  Keep in mind this is in the middle of nowhere, miles too the nearest town of size, and Sunday morning!  So we took the trailers to Pancho!

 The broken  spring.
 Pancho at work....
 John, checking out the yard!
We went for coffee and breakfast while we waited...this is Mexican coffee being brewed.  We had a great breakfast, chilliquillas and eggs.
A view of the mechanic shop.
The finished job, and of course it is still holding - great work Pancho!

Before we left the beach....

I will let these pictures tell the story....just not enough time to tell all the stories about the adventures we have had, you will have to wait to hear them in person.

this was the best of all days!  We were on the water and the dolphins wanted to play......all around the boat and under the bow, swimming along with us.

Flower Challenge

Yes, Char it was a challenge to find some flowers for you.....but I was successful.

I will keep looking - sometimes these little cactus and desert flowers are hard to spot!

A new place to see -

We heard the road to Bahia Asencion is paved all the way! ok, we will give it a try....well, yes it is paved but the first half is so full of pot holes it is worse than gravel.  We were rewarded with a 'quaint' little fishing town on the pacific.
 Beach camping on the pacific.

Just north of Ascencion is a small fishing village San Roque, John & I drove the dirt road about 15 km north to see this little town.  This beach was on the way about half way there.

Lunch at Mari's was delicious - fresh fish of course!

More of our days

We are on our way north in the Baja, we are making a slow trip and stopping at our favorite places and of course added a new spot to our agenda.  I will add a few pictures to tell the story.  The pictures are a bit out of order - and I am (as usual) limited for time and internet resources so you get what you get....

Personal service - this worker is making the garlic braid for me!

This is the road to San Jose de Magelena - an off road trip to the area where they grow garlic.  We were lucky to find the farm where we could purchase braids of garlic.

Our last week was filled with amazing adventures - this little cruise with the dolphins was the best ever.

Meeting up with friends from home

We have been following our friends from the yacht club who are sailing around the Sea of Cortez.  We drove to meet them at Peurto Escondito, and we then took them on a tour to San Javier Mission.  We had a great day and it was so nice to catch up and hear about their travels on the water.

Here are Kathy and Carolyn checking out the rock paintings....
